Mercy Ships

Matriks are delighted to be sponsoring the drinks reception at the Mercy Ships Africa Ball.

This year, it is the 40th Anniversary of Mercy Ships, a charity with whom Matriks has been working to assist the charity with their digital development including redeveloping their website and an updated speaker system for their events and fundraising teams.

Matthew Kendall said he was "honoured to be involved in such a prestigious event which will raise money for one of the most worthy causes, helping people suffering from the devastating effects of poverty and specifically to support the world's largest charity-run hospital ship, the Africa Mercy.

"We are proud of the work Matriks have done with Mercy Ships, helping this global health charity streamline their internal systems and bring their online shop front into the 21st century.

"Our designers work alongside clients to get the best out of their brand and embrace the digital revolution.

"We hope that guests at this 40th anniversary ball will be able to see the work we have done as they enjoy what looks to be an incredible evening knowing they are helping to bring change to hundreds of thousands of people in the most impoverished corners of the world."

Every year, Mercy Ships medical volunteers perform countless medical miracles that transform people's lives in areas where the majority of the population has little or no access to basic healthcare. Their medical teams are superbly supported by a vast number of technical, marine and other compassionate volunteers from all around the world – 400 of them are onboard the Africa Mercy at any one time – who all support themselves financially, and give their time and expertise for free.

Over the past 40 years, their floating hospitals and extraordinary volunteers have accomplished so much since 1978. Making more than 590 port visits in 70 nations, Mercy Ships has provided free, vital medical care to over 2.5 million people. They leave behind them equipment and have trained more than 40,000 health care professionals to revitalise and assist their local communities.
